It’s all talk of Ford as electric plans get people talking.
An announcement indicates that’s Azure Dynamics will supply the drive chain that will be used in the electric version of the ford transit connect. The small commercial van will be a plug-in vehicle and should be available in the US as soon as next year.
The eco-friendly van will offer 80 miles on a full charge and possibly more. A final decision needs to be made on the batter size will should determine the rage that the van will be able to go.
2011 will then see the arrival of the electric car available to all showrooms and not just the commercial or fleet buying industry.
Plans for 2012 are already indicating that there will be a lithiumion battery available for their next generation of hybrid vehicles.
